Mad River Complex Wildfire Overview - 22 August 2015 c. 0800 UTC Weather Conditions - The vicinity of the fire was cloud free. Details - The interpreters were able to designate the fire perimeter and isolated fires with no difficulty. Moderate areas of creeping growth were detected along the western, northern and eastern perimeter edges of the EASTERN-MOST fire in the complex. The fire had not crossed east of Highway 36. Numerous isolated fires were detected outside the perimeter edges of the WESTERN-MOST fire in the complex, to the southwest of that fire perimeter. Large areas of intense fire were detected along the growth edges of the fire perimeter. Large areas of scattered fire were detected throughout the southern and eastern portions of the WESTERN-MOST fire in the complex, as well as on the eastern portion of the EASTERN-MOST fire in the complex, just west of Highway 36. Numerous isolated fires were detected within all three of the large fire perimeters in the complex (not included in the products). The interpreters have been instructed to err on the side of caution when designating isolated fires or possible isolated fires. Therefore, it is likely that isolated/possible isolated fires of relatively minor significance have been designated.
