Precautionary evacuation for Cuddy Valley, Vision, Chuchupate, Lake of the Woods, Pine Mtn Club, Pinon Pines, Camp Scheideck, and Indian Pines. Structure protection in Lockwood Valley, Cuddy Valley, Vision, Chuchupate, Lake of the Woods, Pine Mtn Club, Pinon Pines, Camp Scheideck and Indian Pines. Lockwood Valley Rd closed from Lockwood Creek Rd to Hwy 33(residents with ID ok). Cattle ranching, hay farming, mining, and agriculture impacted. Fire in wildland-urban interface and structure loss. Multiple jurisdictions in relation to protection of critical infrastructure (communications sites, municipal watersheds, electrical facilities/infrastructure, interstate highways) in close proximity to the fire. Use of minimum impact suppression tactics (MIST) in wilderness and threatened/endangered species habitat. Protection of heritage resources. Prevention of the spread of the New Zealand mud snail north of Pyramid Dam and into Piru Lake. Wildland urban interface areas and towns/communities north, south and west of the fire. |

Cattle ranching, hay farming, mining, and agriculture impacted. Closure order for Lockwood Valley residences lifted. Evacuation order for Kern County reduced to precautionary. West: Crews completed line construction in Division Q from Thorn Point Lookout south to H-70 and in Division O from the P/O break south to DP-55. Crews continued mop up and back haul operations in Divisions AA CC in Branch VI. An estimated additional 6 miles of line construction was completed today (combination of East and West Zones). |

Mop-up 400 feet in on divisions W,X,Y,Z. Improve line construction in divisions BB,CC. |

A tentative transition with CIIMT-1 (Feser) to replace CIIMT-5 (Dietrich) on 10/03/2006 at 1800. The Day Incident Summary 209 will reflect both the East and West Zone. Structures reported lost on 9/27 have been reevaluated to reflect 1 residence. Outbuilding/Other category increased from 1 to 3 and destroyed from 9 to 10 due to revised damage assessment reporting figures with State standard. The estimated property saved due to direct fire suppression effort is $20,500,000 in Lockwood Valley. |
