Abstract:
Coverage of detailed soils from the USDA/NRCS soil
survey maps which cover the following counties: Alachua,
Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton,
Jefferson, Lafayette, Levy, Madison, Suwannee, Taylor
and Union. There are two more parts of counties that
make up the SRWMD - Baker and Putnam. These are located
in the St. Johns River Water Management District

Metadata elements shown with blue text are defined in the Federal Geographic Data Committee's (FGDC) Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Elements shown with green text are defined in the ESRI Profile of the CSDGM. Elements shown with a green asterisk (*) will be automatically updated by ArcCatalog. ArcCatalog adds hints indicating which FGDC elements are mandatory; these are shown with gray text.

All 13 individual county coverages within Suwanee River Water Mangagment District were electronically transfered and projected to Albers HPGN. There were numerous problems: The most notable being Columbia county. Originally, Columbia county was digitized beyond its county boundaries. In order to make Columbia fit within the surrounding counties, the original digitization was matched to the county boundary on the USGS Digital Raster Graph Quadrangles images at a scale of 1:24000. Some of the other counties came with missing/unknown data for some of the polygons. The counties were then appended in ArcInfo8. There were numerous sliver polygons which were then checked against the original digitized counties and deleted/attributed accordingly. Data users, as always should check the latest hard copy soil survey book for verification.
